The Blue Cat Audio MB-5 Dynamix is basically the Blue Cat Dynamics, but multi-band, so it's able to bring those all-important nuances into even sharper focus. While standard compression can sometimes pump a little roughly, a multi-band compressor offers the subtle touch needed to keep the same problem areas out of the compression range. This plug-in can accurately pick apart the different frequency ranges via 12 to 120dB filters for tight results, and the side-chaining is just as focussed when performing tricks like kick drum ducking. It's this, coupled with a bank of solid presets and a clear, tweak-worthy interface that breathes so much potential.
